My history as a photographer
HÅKAN IVERSON
My journey into photography began already when I was twelve years old and got the opportunity to work as an assistant in a darkroom in the small town of Växjo, Sweden. Seeing images, and the stories they contained, appear seemingly out of nowhere made me fall in love with the trade. I eventually started taking my own photographs and bought my own real camera at the age of fourteen, a Leica M2 with a 35-a and a 90-a lens. As a young teenager in the 60s I worked as a photographic journalist at “Växjo Bladet” and at “Alf Gustafsson Press & Reklambild” before I got in to “Stockholm Fotografiska skola”. After graduating I worked as a photographer for several different magazines and also ventured in to underwater photography.
Over the years I have owned and loved a wide variety of cameras including Leica M4, with 35- resp. 90 mm Summicron/F2 lenses, Hasselblad 500C/CM, Rolliflex and Nikon F2 AS. My transition to digital started with a Lumix with Leitz-lense and after that Leica and Leica Q. My most recent work is captured with Leica Q2 and SL2.
